About the Instructor

Lynn LaPointe Wiese is a licensed Landscape Architect and is principal of Designs For Outdoor Living in Mount Pleasant . She offers landscape consultations, public speaking, and teaches her workshop series and a variety other landscape-related classes.

Her experience includes design/build in which her designs for residential, commercial, and institutional projects have won numerous accolades including the prestigious Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association Design Awards. She also served as the designer of the outdoor garden displays for the nationally acclaimed Longwood Gardens , a du Pont country estate in Pennsylvania.

Ms. LaPointe Wiese has a BLA in Recreation and Parks Management from the University of Maine; a MLA in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University; and, a MSA in General Administration from Central Michigan University.

Landscape Consultations

Lynn offers several options for you to get her input on your landscape design issues.

"Off-Site" Consultation Visit Lynn at her home studio in Mount Pleasant, MI. Bring photos, plot plans, etc. of your landscape, and Lynn will work up design solutions on the spot. All sketches and drawings will be yours to take home. In-studio consultation $55.00 per hour. One hour minimum required.

Individual "On-Site" Consultation Have you ever wished you could have a professional come to your yard and advise you on your design dilemmas? Well, it can be done! Lynn will come to your site armed with sketch pads, marking paint, stakes, and flags. She will advise you on possible design solutions and, if you wish, she can mark out bed lines, plant layout, etc so you can better visualize possible design solutions. All sketches and drawings will be yours to keep. On-site consultation $75.00 per hour. One hour minimum required. Travel time to your residence and mileage reimbursement within 15 miles of her studio - No fee. Travel time to your residence and mileage reimbursement more than 15 miles from her studio $.75 per mile.

"Group" Consultations Do you have several friends in your area that would like an on-site consultation? You can make a day of it and follow Lynn from yard to yard as she conducts her consultation as described above. This is a great opportunity to learn about all kinds of design solutions for varying situations. Minimum of 2 sites required. On-site consultation $55.00 per hour. One hour minimum per site required. Travel time to residences and mileage reimbursement within 25 miles of her studio - No fee. Travel time to residences and mileage reimbursement more than 25 miles from her studio $.75 per mile (groups may split the fee as they choose).

Other Services
